A child aged 1 year and 7 months suffered a third-degree burn injury that required initial skin grafting to the hand.
Following the first treatment, the child developed severe adhesions, which significantly limited finger and hand movement.
Multiple public and private hospitals declined surgical intervention due to the high risk of compromised blood circulation to the fingers following surgery.
Eventually, the child was operated on by Dr. [Abdulaziz Asiry] at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital – Qassim. The surgery lasted three and a half hours and was successfully completed in a single session.
It was a delicate procedure that involved releasing the adhesions and restoring full hand function while preserving vascular integrity.
Today, the child’s hand is fully open, with improved finger mobility.
